Department of Audiology

If your child has suspected or confirmed hearing loss, you can trust the Department of Audiology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to provide comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative hearing services. Our team of specialists ensures the best care for your child and provides you with the resources needed to make informed decisions.

In Audiology, which is part of the Center for Childhood Communication, we practice family-centered care, explaining hearing evaluation procedures and amplification options so you can decide the best path forward for your child. We also help with financial assistance, language stimulation and educational programs.

An important part of our care is family wellness, which includes hearing and behavior evaluations, individual and family counseling, and living well with hearing loss information, resources and referrals.

How we serve you

The type and severity of your child's hearing loss determines how we can best help. Your family's needs may change over time, and we will adjust our care to match.

Conditions we treat

In addition to caring for children with hearing loss, we work with children who have balance and vestibular disorders, and those with tinnitus (ringing or buzzing sounds).
