About Erica Reighard, MSN, APRN
Erica Reighard, MSN, APRN, Erica received her Bachelor of Science from James Madison University and subsequently obtained her Master of Science, Pediatric Acute Care program at the University of Pennsylvania.
Erica currently works at Nemours Children’s Hospital in the CICU, caring for critically ill neonates, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart disease. In addition to her responsibilities of the CICU, she also covers the telemetry floor and the PACU area. Prior to her role as an APP at Nemours, she was a CICU nurse at Children’s National from 2016-2020. In 2019, she received the Nursing Excellence Award for exemplary professional practice after volunteering to work in the Pediatric ICU for 4 weeks to reduce staffing shortages during a high-volume period. Prior to this award, Erica received the Cardiac ICU Key Contributor award.
Throughout her Graduate program, Erica presented on many different topics, posters and led a case conference. Topics included but not limited to managing complications of Trisomy 18; syncope of the soccer field; coarctation of the aorta and a poster on Pulmonary atresia with intact ventricular septum and right ventricular dependent coronaries.
