Osteochondroma

<p>Osteochondroma is the most common benign bone tumor in children. Because an osteochondroma often displays no symptoms, the tumor may only be discovered when a child notices a bump, or reports pain. For some children, the osteochondroma may never be discovered.</p>

By any measure, 8-year-old Zion Harvey has led an extraordinary life. At the age of 2, he developed sepsis, a life-threatening infection that led to the amputation of his feet and hands. The illness also damaged his kidneys and, two years later, Zion underwent a kidney transplant — receiving an organ donated by his mother, Pattie Ray.

Research Update: 8- to 13-Year Study of Neurodevelopmental Outcomes in Children with Pulmonary Hypoplasia

The Pulmonary Hypoplasia Program at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is committed to tracking outcomes of children with pulmonary hypoplasia in an effort to improve understanding and care. A recent review of neurodevelopmental outcomes at 5 years of age found that CDH survivors are at increased risk for developing emotionally reactive and pervasive developmental problems.
