Pediatric Spinal Fusion Surgery
Pediatric spinal fusion surgery joins two or more bones in the spine together into a solid bone to help the spine grow in a straighter position. Metal rods are placed alongside of the spine to hold the bones in a straight position while the bone graft heals. The extra bone from the hip or pelvis helps knit the bones together. This surgery is ideal for patients who have reached skeletal maturity.
