Electric breast pumps are available at a variety of locations throughout The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, including private rooms and on every inpatient unit, so that you can pump at your child’s bedside.

All pump rooms throughout the Hospital are private, have a comfortable chair, a Medela Symphony electric breast pump, and sanitary wipes for cleaning the pump. Human milk storage bottles and a sink with soap to clean your pumping kit are also included in each room.

Pump rooms are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Please keep the rooms clean for the others who will use them after you.

In addition to the private rooms, every inpatient unit also has electric breast pumps that you can use at your child's bedside. You may need to share with other pumping mothers on the floor.

Ask your nurse to provide you an electric breast pump and to provide details for the nearest pump room if you are not able to pump at your child’s bedside.
