Description

The study aims to determine the reasons why parents decline consent in PICU research by formally collecting these responses, grouping them into categories, and analyzing the data. The study aims to assess this of all parents of PICU children who decline prospective consent (in person or phone, with or without interpreter), without age restriction. About 500 sets of responses will be included in the analysis. This sample will also provide > 90% power to determine whether responses differ according to specific demographic information by 33%.
