Description

The purpose of this research study is to understandtheimpact of transplant on the quality of life of the entire family includingsibling donors, other siblings and parents.

Identifying Predictors of Poor Health-Related Quality-of-Life among Pediatric Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors

What to expect

The study will enroll male and female subjects between5 and 17 years of age who are donating hematopoietic stemcells (HSCs) to a sibling, or have a sibling receiving a transplant from asource outside of the family. Theirparents will also be asked to participate.  Participants will be asked tocomplete four telephone interviews during a one-year period at the followingtimepoints: Shortly before the transplant, 4 weeks after the transplant, 6months after the transplant, and 1 year after the transplant.  Each interview should take about 15-30minutes to complete.
