There are so many ways to get to the Philadelphia Campus of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) on public transit, including train, bus, trolley and rideshare. Review the details below and find the best option for your family. All visitors are encouraged to visit SEPTA.org or ridepatco.org for public transportation updates. AMTRAK
All northeast corridor AMTRAK trains stop at 30th Street Station, which is about 1 mile from CHOP’s Main Hospital and our Philadelphia Campus.
See SEPTA Regional Rail Lines or SEPTA City Trains and Trolleys for information on traveling to the hospital from 30th Street Station. Taxi service also is available at 30th Street Station.

SEPTA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority)
Regional Rail Lines
The Airport, Wilmington/Newark, Media/Elwyn and most Glenside Combined, Warminster and West Trenton trains provide direct service to the Penn Medicine Station, about a block from CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus. From riders traveling on other Regional Rail lines, you can transfer free to the Airport, Wilmington/Newark or Media/Elwyn trains at 30th Street or Jefferson stations. Your train ticket is your transfer.
SEPTA city trains, trolleys and buses
- The SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway) stops at 34th and Market Streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street or a five-minute ride on the LUCY Shuttle takes you to the Main Hospital and CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus.
- All SEPTA Subway/Surface Green Line trolleys, except for the 10 trolley, stop underground at the 36th St. and 37th St. Stations -- just a few blocks walk to the Main Hospital and CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus.
- SEPTA bus routes 30, 40 and 42 run in front of or near CHOP’s Main Hospital.

New Jersey PATCO trains
Traveling from New Jersey? Take the PATCO line to 8th and Market streets, then follow the underground concourse to SEPTA’s Jefferson Station. From there, you can take the Airport, Wilmington/Newark or Media/Elwyn Regional Rail lines to the Penn Medicine Station. Another option is to take PATCO to 8th and Market streets, then transfer to the SEPTA Market/Frankford Blue Line (the elevated train/subway), where you’ll take a westbound train to 34th and Market streets. A 10-minute walk south on 34th Street will take you to CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus.

Greyhound Bus Lines
If traveling by Greyhound Bus, take the bus to the Greyhound Bus Station at 10th and Filbert streets, then walk to the Jefferson Station at 11th and Market streets. From there, take the Airport, Wilmington/Newark or Media/Elwyn Regional Rail line to the Penn Medicine Station. A taxi ride from the Greyhound Bus station to CHOP’s Philadelphia Campus costs about $12.
