Clinical sites
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Main Hospital
The CHOP Main Hospital is where pediatric plastic surgery fellows will operate regularly. At CHOP, fellows work with a team of Penn Plastic Surgery and off-service residents to cover pediatric plastic surgery cases.
Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care
The Buerger Center for Advanced Medicine is a clinic building where fellows attend plastic surgery and multidisciplinary clinics.
Some of the pediatric plastic surgery and craniofacial surgeons operate at CHOP’s King of Prussia Campus, approximately 15 miles from the CHOP Main Campus. Here, fellows will be able to participate in cleft lip and palate procedures as well as other routine plastic surgery procedures. Residents do not typically cover cases at the King of Prussia Campus, and a team of advanced practice providers cares for those patients who are admitted after their surgeries.
Multi-Disciplinary team involvement
CHOP has nationally recognized faculty and well-established programs in these areas (Pediatric and Adolescent Breast Program, Facial Motion Disorders Clinic, Comprehensive Vascular Anomalies Program, Pigmented Lesion Group, Cleft Lip and Palate Program, and Velopharyngeal Dysfunction Clinic) and can provide world-class training in the evaluation, surgical treatment, and multidisciplinary collaboration for the comprehensive care of these conditions.
