By late November 2024, almost 300 cases of measles had been identified in the U.S. Of these cases, 7 of every 10 were associated with an outbreak. Outbreaks occur when at least three related cases are diagnosed. By late November, 16 outbreaks had occurred throughout the U.S., compared with four outbreaks in 2023. In this video, Dr. Handy discusses why measles outbreaks occur and what can be done to prevent them.
