Training and Education
While the number of children with complex medical conditions continues to rise, the number of pediatric specialists who can care for them has dwindled. At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), we are committed to preparing the next generations of top pediatric care providers, specialists and researchers that families need now — and into the future. We will also give our staff opportunities to advance their knowledge to best care for children and families.
CHOP inspires and prepares the most talented and ambitious physicians, researchers, and nurses to face complex care situations. Watch this video to learn more.

Urologist Gregory Tasian, MD, MSC, MSCE, is a renowned expert on pediatric kidney stones, which are becoming more common. He pursued this interest after joining CHOP as a urology fellow in 2011.Thanks to donor support through the Urology and Nephrology Research Fund, Dr. Tasian was able to lead groundbreaking studies that have advanced our approach to kidney stones in children.
Dr. Tasian has since won major awards from the National Institutes of Health, and he helped spearhead the new Pediatric Kidney Stone Center at CHOP. His story speaks to the importance of recruiting the best young physicians and scientists to CHOP as fellows and then putting the resources in place to support their work. A fellowship is their foundation for figuring out what questions they wish to ask and answer to improve health care for all children, not just those at CHOP.
Every Dollar Counts. You Can Still Help.
