About Katherine R. Buhikire, FNP-BC, CRNP
Katherine R. Buhikire, FNP-C, CRNP, is a Front-Line Ordering Clinician (FLOC) Nurse Practitioner with the Division of Surgery at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia King of Prussia hospital location. Katherine spent one year as an Afya Bora Global Health Leadership fellow in Uganda before relocating to the Middle East (Qatar) for over three years, where she worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Pediatric Orthopedics at a new flagship pediatric hospital in Doha. She has also volunteered as a nurse in multiple surgical hospitals in Africa, including locations in Kenya, Zambia, and Malawi, and participated in HIV research as a student in Botswana. Her current global health research interests include injury prevention, injury outcomes, and access to surgical care in low and middle-income countries.
