About Shelly Soni, MD

Dr. Soni is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at the Richard D. Wood Jr. Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment (CFDT) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Assistant Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her clinical and research interests include maternal outcomes after fetal interventions and the obstetrical management of pregnancies impacted with birth defects. She completed her medical degree in India with a specialty in obstetrics and gynecology. She subsequently gained experience as an attending obstetrician-gynecologist. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in New York.

She spent two years as our fetal therapy fellow, then completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the Hofstra-Northwell School of Medicine in New York. She is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine.
