Our Cardiovascular Risk Assessment Clinic at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides evaluation, treatment and monitoring for children, teens and young adults at risk of developing heart disease.

We work with you, your child and your referring doctor to determine your child's cardiovascular risk. We’ll then develop a complete, personalized plan to address your child's risk factors and long-term health. Our recommendations may include:

  • Healthy lifestyle changes
  • Medication to manage cholesterol and blood pressure levels
  • Regular monitoring of blood pressure, cholesterol levels, triglycerides, body mass index (BMI) and other measurements of health

Your child will likely need to be seen every three to five years. If they currently have high blood pressure, abnormal lipid values or obesity, they may be referred to other clinics for additional testing.
