Last night, Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) held its Honor Your Doctor gala in New York City. Jonathan Spergel, MD, PhD, Chief of the Allergy Program at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, received the Visionary Award for his work in the field of pediatric allergy and immunology. His research was recognized by his colleagues as being formative to the advancements in how clinicians view food allergy in children.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers like this,” said Dr. Spergel. “I’m a scientist, and finding answers to the unknown has always driven me..” Dr. Spergel’s patient families praise him for his emphasis on making sure that their children with food allergies can lead a normal life.
