Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is proud to announce that two of our nurses, Christina Milligan and Sophia Collins, were recognized by Independence Blue Cross in its annual Celebrate Caring Campaign.
Celebrated during National Nurses Week, the campaign showcases outstanding nurses in the region, emphasizing the critical and meaningful work nurses perform in the community.
Christina and Sophia were nominated by their colleagues and peers. Here are some of the words and phrases used to describe the work of these two nurses:
Christina Milligan, CRNP; CHOP Primary Care Paoli (winner):
- “Christina is an important part of our clinical team in our office. She is enthusiastic about nursing and empowers other nurses in our office to advance their professional development.”
- “Christina is a caring and compassionate nurse who takes her time to address every need of every child and their family, going above and beyond. She truly cares about advocating for her patients and getting them the care they deserve.”
- “She is inclusive, accepting, listens attentively, expresses genuine concern, and shines her light onto each one of her patients and their families.”
Sophia Collins, MSN, RN; Philadelphia campus (finalist):
- “Sophia established the High School Nursing and Medical Professions Pathway Program this year, a CHOP and Philadelphia High School partnership. The program aims to promote nursing as an obtainable career path in local Philadelphia high schools.”
- “Sophia is an integral part of our community and for that she should be recognized.”
On behalf of nursing leadership, congratulations and thank you to Christina and Sophia for their dedication to their work and the patients they serve.
