What does it take to be a Celebrate Caring finalist? For the first time this year, Independence Blue Cross launched a region-wide campaign to find nurses going above and beyond in their care for the community.
Pediatric nurse Catherine Hamilton, BSN, RN, was recently nominated by other CHOP nurses for her remarkable work with CHOP patients and their families. Catherine is also a volunteer with Dragonfly Forest, an overnight camp for children with chronic medical needs. Out of thousands of applications, Catherine was chosen as a top 10 finalist.
“Kids just want to be kids,” says Catherine. “They don’t let their disease define them.”
On June 18, Catherine and her peers were honored at an appreciation event at Independence LIVE.
