While sepsis in adults is prevalent and dangerous, there is a growing recognition that a greater number of children are also at risk, according to Scott Weiss, MD, pediatric intensivist at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Weiss has recently helped contribute to new pediatric guidelines on how hospitals can diagnose and treat sepsis in children.
