June 12, 2019 was International NASHDAY, a day to raise awareness about non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), also called fatty liver disease, a condition in which fat builds up in the liver, not due to heavy alcohol use. NAFLD is the most common liver disease in children in the U. S., affecting 5 to 8 million children and adolescents. To help raise awareness of this disease, our NAFLD team hosted an education table in our hospital atrium.
