Corporate Charitable Partnerships
The benefits of a charitable partnership
Support from corporations like yours allows Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to save lives and provide top-ranked care to children and families in the Philadelphia region and worldwide. Corporations support a wide range of cutting-edge pediatric programs, including research, patient care, child life and family support initiatives, community benefit programs, medical education and more. Executives from some of our most dedicated corporate sponsors are members of the Corporate Council.
Partnering with us also supports more than just our mission and the families we serve — it can also benefit your organization, your employees, your clients and investors, even your customers. Potential benefits to partnering with CHOP include:
- Improving employee morale through employee engagement opportunities, fundraising campaigns, or corporate match giving programs
- Strengthening your corporate image and brand recognition through CHOP’s communication vehicles, including web, print and other forms of CHOP-created media
- Naming opportunities that establish a legacy of support for the country’s most historic pediatric institution
- Inclusion in CHOP’s “giving societies” — a recognition program that promotes networking among the CHOP donor community, which totals approximately 100,000 donors on an annual basis
We’re happy to work with you to identify and develop a partnership that meets the needs of your organization. Please contact Tim Johnson, Senior Director, Corporate Leadership Fundraising, johnsont22@chop.edu.
How you can help
Here are just a few of the ways your organization can join forces with CHOP to improve the lives of patients and their families.
Make a contribution
Children's Hospital of Philadelphia features a wide variety of programs that appeal to corporate giving priorities. By making a contribution to these programs, your corporation has the opportunity to impact children and families both within the CHOP network as well as our broader community. Corporate philanthropy has the ability to bring CHOP’s track record of success in pediatrics to those who need its excellence.
Sponsor an event
CHOP events offer your corporation a high-profile and high-impact vehicle to strengthen your brand while supporting the Hospital's efforts to advance pediatric healthcare. Each year, our events bring thousands of people together from throughout our broader region on the common ground of helping CHOP better serve children and families in need. Some of our annual events include the Parkway Run & Walk, the CHOP Buddy Walk & Family Fun Day, Holiday Boutique, Cheers for CHOP, Philly Spin-In, Walk for Hope, The Runway, the Cure Sickle Cell Walk & Family Fun Day and the CHOP Golf Classic. Every two years, CHOP also hosts the Carousel Ball. View our full list of events.
Engage your business
The Helping Hands Community Care Challenge is not just a volunteer opportunity for employees of your organization; it is a unique chance for corporations to make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. The event will gather hundreds of participants for a high-energy day of service, focusing on a diverse range of programs and patient populations at CHOP. Your employees will engage in a variety of activities such asassembling activity kits for inpatient children, packing bags for low-income families, gathering hygiene kits for homeless youth and more.
Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC)
Administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) Program awards tax credits of up to 90% to businesses that contribute to approved programs. CHOP is eligible to receive EITC funds, which support our Educational Improvement Organization (EIO), the Hospital School Program. Businesses who are approved by the state can give to CHOP directly. For businesses and individuals who are not state approved, CHOP partners with a Special Purpose Entity (SPE) as an alternative.
To learn how your business can earn tax credits while supporting CHOP, contact Lizz Miller, Director, Corporate Annual Giving, millere8@chop.edu.
Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP)
Administered through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED), the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) supports Pennsylvania communities by providing tax credits up to 90% to businesses that contribute to approved programs that improve distressed neighborhoods. CHOP applies to NAP annually to bolster support for various community-based programs. We invite you to join us in improving the communities around CHOP by participating as a contributor through NAP. Commitment letters are needed by May 30 each year.
