  • We have never seen this provider before this visit. When she printed out the summary of the visit she noticed we were scheduled to see her for my son's well visit in 5 months and she got excited, and honestly I was thrilled. I felt this provider took her time to understand the scope of what was occurring and thoroughly examined my son. She gave us her professional suggestions to do at home and also personal suggests she had done with her kids. I felt understood and seen and appreciated her honesty, explanations and relatability.

  • Dr. Newman was fantastic with both my daughters. She only saw one of them but had my oldest daughter sit on her lap while she examined my younger daughter. It was such an easy and comfortable appointment

  • Appreciated Dr Newman's thoughts on the COVID vaccine. Also I was happy that she told my son not to vape, do marijuana or anything because of the risks of anything happening these days with addition of other drugs that my child wouldn't know about. At the age of 17 they are exploring and this was important.

  • My daughter sees a lot of specialist. Not only did Dr. Newman review all prior specialty visits, but she pulled in the notes from each respective specialist so it was easily accessible to all providers in coordinating care. This was definitely unique and allows for continuity of care and a cohesive care plan. My daughter felt comfortable with Dr. Newman. She is thorough and kind. We opted to pass on the HPV at 9, as my daughter is extremely petite and years away from puberty. She explained everything to us without us feeing pressured. We plan to get it in the future. Overall, we are confident in her care and the care provided to us Chop.

  • Dr. Newman addressed all concerns efficiently and reviewed questions/concerns along with potential follow up care. She spoke to my son at eye level, asking about summer and personal things. The trick to kids is getting on their level and making them feel comfortable in expressing themselves. Dr. Newman has always done this, and it allows the children to talk and be involved in the care. My kids were smiling and excited the whole visit.

She is a wealth of knowledge and her compassion and dedication to the profession is demonstrated in her care.

  • Dr Newman showed deep concern and care. She reached out to the immunology department. She wanted to make sure my son got the correct treatment so he didn't end up in the ER, which has happened before if he goes without treatment. She sent us home so my son didn't have to sit at the office any longer and called me with the plan.

About the Patient Experience Rating System

The Patient Experience Rating is an average of all responses to the care provider related questions shown above from our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Patients that are treated in outpatient or hospital environments may receive different surveys, and the volume of responses will vary by question. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. We are committed to true transparency. However, to ensure the comments are fair and correctly attributed, we review each one before posting to the website. We exclude entire comments that disclose patient’s protected health information, are off-topic, or include other confidential or inappropriate content. Comments will appear on provider bios only if providers have a minimum number of comments. Comments are shared internally for education purposes to ensure that we are doing our very best for the patients and families for whom we are privileged to care. The comments are submitted by patients and families and reflect their views and opinions. The comments are not endorsed by and do not reflect the views of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
