About Daniela H. Davis, MD, MSCE, FCCM
Dr. Davis is a graduate of Dartmouth School of Medicine in 1996. She finished her pediatric residency and pediatric critical care medicine fellowship training at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). Dr. Davis completed her Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania. After training she worked for the Department of Defense as an Attending Physician in the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) at the Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia.
In 2004, she joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine and returned to CHOP as an attending physician in the CHOP Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. She has been promoted to Professor of Clinical Critical Care, Anesthesiology & Pediatrics.
Dr. Davis has developed expertise in Clinical Operations, Patient Safety and Quality Improvement. She has completed educational instruction in these areas: the Healthcare Leadership Program at CHOP, Patient Safety Officer Executive Development Program at the IHI, and the Advanced Training Program in Healthcare Delivery at Intermountain Health. Dr. Davis currently serves in several leadership positions. She is the Medical Director of the PICU, Philadelphia Campus; the Associate Chief of Operations, Safety & Quality Improvement in the Division of Critical Care Medicine; the Associate Chair of Safety & Quality Improvement in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine as well as the Medical Advisor to the Office of General Council.
Dr. Davis's passion remains bedside care of pediatric patients in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Her academic and administrative career has been focused on making the healthcare delivery system better for this vulnerable population.
