About Alison Gingrich, RN, MSN, CRNP

Advancing to the position of nurse practitioner has allowed me to continue to work with the oncology team caring for patients and families. I really enjoy educating families about their child’s diagnosis and empowering them to care for their child despite this new challenge. I practice on the inpatient unit caring mainly for patients who are newly diagnosed or are admitted for routine chemotherapy. Over the 11 years that I have worked in pediatric oncology, I continue to be impressed with how resilient patients and families are despite the difficult situation.

I recently was selected to pilot the weekend-care model at CHOP, staffing nurse practitioners into the weekend team. I am now fortunate to work with the Hematologic and Solid Tumor teams under the general oncology umbrella.

In my role as an Acute, Chronic Care Nurse Practitioner, I have given presentations to students and colleagues that focus on leukemia, sarcomas as well as neuroblastoma. I am also very involved in the delivery of immunotherapy research here at CHOP for patients with neuroblastoma. Additionally I am involved in research of diaper dermatitis on infant leukemia and improving patient safety measures.
