Specimen Shipping Recommendations
To ensure a seamless experience when shipping specimens to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, our Outreach Testing Services team recommends the following:
- Follow the requirements listed in our Test Directory for collecting and preparing test(s).
- For Category B, Non-Infectious Samples, label your package accordingly:
- UN3373 for Biological Substance
- Class 9 for dry ice (only necessary for sending a frozen sample)
- Use large, bold letters on your package to indicate any specific temperature requirements (for example, “FROZEN”).
- Contact Sherry Booker at bookers2@chop.edu for additional labels to expedite the routing of your samples to our labs.
- Forward tracking details and shipping updates from the carrier to SpecimenTracking@CHOP.edu to further expedite the process.
Thank you for your cooperation in ensuring samples are correctly routed and tracked in real time.
