Department of Pediatrics

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the oldest hospital in the nation dedicated exclusively to pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics at CHOP and Penn’s Perelman School of Medicine strives to be the world leader in advancing healthcare for children. We do this by integrating excellent patient care, innovative research, cutting-edge professional education programs and timely advocacy into all that we do.

U.S. News and World Report has ranked us the No. 1 training program for pediatrics for 11 consecutive years. We offer a supportive environment for both clinical and academic work, including research through CHOP’s Research Institute.

Our core values of integrity, compassion, accountability, respect and excellence create a framework for everything we do throughout the department and across the institution.
