The Center for Family Care

The Center for Family Care’s mission is to support families as they build stronger relationships and navigate challenges. We help improve both the physical and mental health of children and adolescents by focusing on health promotion and behavioral health care. We foster emotional well-being using a family-focused approach to meet family’s unique needs and partner with them to address challenges like:
- Communication issues
- Relationship challenges
- Parenting difficulties
- Illnesses
- Major life transitions
We are dedicated to creating a safe environment where every family can find the tools they need to thrive. We are transforming care by:
- Working together – we take a team approach to family services based on evidence
- Learning together – we offer hands-on provider training to improve skills
- Community partnerships – we work together with community organizations to offer better services and more access to care
How we serve you
To develop a personalized plan for your family, we will:
- Meet with your family to better understand your needs
- Consult with your child’s doctors, teachers and behavioral health providers to assess existing and potential barriers in managing your child’s challenges
- Provide counseling that supports your family as you make changes
- Recommend community-based services to support your family’s access to care

Meet your team
Our team includes clinical social workers, marital and family therapists, pediatric psychologists, and child and adolescent psychiatrists-in-training who focus on the impact of challenging (conflictual) relationships on child and family functioning. We help families move from negative to more positive interactions as they learn new roles and behaviors.

Our location
Our outpatient appointments are at the Center for Advanced Behavioral Healthcare, located on the third floor at 4601 Market St.

Partnership with Project BE-WEHL
As part of our commitment to our patients’ physical and emotional well-being, we have established a relationship with CHOP’s Project BE-WEHL – Behavioral Health Equity Wellness for a Healthy Life. Project BE-WEHL brings wellness therapies like mindfulness, acupuncture, yoga and nutrition education through a five-session, in-home program for families who need them.
