Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
Cardiac catheterization is a highly specialized procedure that requires advanced technology and the expertise of a skilled and experienced team. In the Cardiac Catheterization Lab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), your child will be cared for by interventional cardiologists who are world-leading experts in the field of pediatric cardiac catheterization. Each year, we perform more than 1,400 cardiac catheterization procedures on babies, children, teens and even adults with congenital heart disease.
We have also developed and perfected innovative cardiac catheterization procedures to treat a full range of congenital heart problems without open-heart surgery. We are committed to research and are involved in many clinical trials to make sure these treatment options are available to as many patients as possible.
