Early Intervention Agency - Delaware

Early Intervention (EI): Coordinated by the Child Development Watch program in the Division of Public Health. Serves children ages 0-3 years.

No charges for assessments; services are billed to family’s insurance company.

When a child turns 3, the Delaware Department of Education is responsible for meeting the special education needs of the child. These services are delivered under the direction of the local school district. Services may continue until high school graduation or age 21, whichever occurs first.

The Delaware Autism Program may be called in to help educate children with autism up to age 21, but a referral must be made by Early Intervention or the relevant school district.
