Academy for Resuscitation of Children
The Academy for Resuscitation of Children (ARC) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a pioneering cardiac arrest and resuscitation science training and implementation center dedicated exclusively to children.
The center’s mission includes:
- Creating, establishing and sharing evidence-based resuscitation guidelines
- Pioneering new life-saving interventions to improve survival rates and quality of life
- Advancing and supporting new discoveries in pediatric arrest prevention, preparation and resuscitation practices
- Leading research and innovative training
- A relentless commitment to extraordinary care and global collaboration
Our collaborative partnerships – at CHOP and around the world – bridge many disciplines. Our diversity incorporates the best in education, quality improvement and research. The core of ARC’s purpose is to save more children’s lives and to improve the quality of life for children everywhere.
How we serve you
Our program – in collaboration with leading institutions around the world – has developed next generation interventions, training materials and programs highlighting best practices in pediatric resuscitation. We share this information through workshops, presentations, external site visits and scholar exchange programs.
Why choose the Academy for Resuscitation of Children
We are pioneering the implementation of translational research, exceptional training and extraordinary care to save children’s lives. We do this through discovery, dissemination, implementation and support of optimal resuscitation practices delivered in every community.
Meet your team
Our center includes an interdisciplinary team of world-renowned experts in the field of resuscitation that collaborate to care for children at high risk of cardiac arrest and resuscitation.
Our research
The ARC serves as an “incubator or innovation accelerator” for CHOP’s next-generation pediatric resuscitation programs. We adapt, implement and disseminate an evidence-based 10-Step Global Resuscitation Alliance and Resuscitation Academy approach to high performance pediatric resuscitation.
Our program goals
CHOP’s Academy for Resuscitation of Children has four primary goals:
- Education: Providing training interventions to optimize patient outcomes during a resuscitation
- Research: Offering innovative resuscitation-based research to promote best practices
- Outreach: Providing training, site visits and tele-support to healthcare organizations
- Quality Improvement: Collaborating with staff to promote the highest quality of care
