The Alumni Organization at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a unique resource that allows residents, fellows and staff members to enhance their medical education. The group also works to strengthen relationships with CHOP alumni through networking events, ongoing education, and collaborative research.

Education for physicians at CHOP does not end with the completion of a residency or fellowship program. As pediatric specialties are constantly evolving, the Alumni Organization aims to provide support and connection in an effort to grow the medical community.

Membership in CHOP’s Alumni Organization includes current and previous members of the medical or research staff of CHOP, as well as those who have been in a post-graduate medical training program sponsored by the Hospital. This includes all residents and fellows who have trained at CHOP for at least six months.

Annual Events

Grand Rounds

The Alumni Organization proudly sponsors the Residents and Fellows Grand Rounds Lectureship series, providing an opportunity for trainees to speak in a professional forum and demonstrate their commitment to advancing research and clinical care. All Pediatric Grand Rounds, including this sponsored series, are held 8-9 AM on Wednesdays, from September through June, in the HUB for Clinical Collaboration and virtually.

Pediatric Academic Societies (PAS)

CHOP’s Alumni Organization proudly hosts an Alumni & Friends Reception annually at the PAS meeting. We invite all current clinical staff, alumni, and friends of CHOP to join us for an evening of reconnecting with colleagues! Details are shared in advance of the PAS meeting each year, and you can join our newsletter list to be sure you receive the information.

Alumni Awards

Contributions to the Alumni Organization allow us to bestow the Richard D. Wood Distinguished Alumni Award upon an outstanding CHOP physician-alumni each year to recognize their exceptional contributions to the field of medicine. Additionally, the Patrick S. Pasquariello Jr. Service Award is given to a past or present faculty member who has served the CHOP and Philadelphia community with great distinction over their career. The recipients are honored annually at the Annual Meeting of the Medical Staff on CHOP’s campus. Learn more about the awards and this year’s recipients.
