About Marissa Olson, MPH
Marissa Olson, MPH, is the Global Health Center Program Coordinator at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She supports various global health programs, including initiatives in Botswana, the Dominican Republic, and Ghana. Additionally, she is helps coordinate the CHOP David N. Pincus Global Health Fellowship, the Global Health Nursing Fellowship, and the Global Health Allies Program. Marissa also provides logistical support required to host Global Health observers and visitors to CHOP.
Marissa is passionate about increasing access to health care and health education globally. She focused on Global Studies, Public Health, and Spanish in her undergraduate studies and has had various global experiences, including interning with World Vision Eswatini, where she worked with the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) team focusing on menstrual hygiene. Before coming to CHOP in 2021, she received a Fulbright Award to teach English in a small city in Northern Spain. She received her Master of Public Health and a Global Health Certificate from Temple University.
