About Monica Taylor Lotty
Monica Taylor Lotty leads CHOP’s advancement efforts and a CHOP Foundation team of 180. She manages all fundraising strategy, raising on average $170 million per year in private support from individuals, corporations and foundations to advance CHOP’s mission and vision. A key component of this work is developing and executing plans for CHOP’s comprehensive fundraising campaigns. Under Ms. Lotty’s leadership, CHOP closed its For Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Campaign in June 2020 with $1 billion raised; the hospital is in the planning phase of its next comprehensive campaign with a focus on raising funds to support CHOP’s top priorities.
Prior to CHOP, Ms. Lotty served as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Delaware, and as Executive Director for External Affairs at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She has dedicated more than 35 years to working with families, business leaders and philanthropists around the globe.
Ms. Lotty is involved with multiple organizations, including The Woodmark Group, Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Task Force), The Forum of Executive Women, Artisans’ Bank (Board of Directors) and Serviam Girls Academy (Board of Directors). She is also an Executive Sponsor for CHOP’s All Abilities Employee Resource Group. In 2024, she was named one of Philadelphia’s Most Influential African Americans by The Philadelphia Tribune and received the Philadelphia Business Journal’s Corporate Leadership Award.
Ms. Lotty has a JD from The James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University and a BA in Government from Georgetown University.
