In anticipation of National Disability Employment Awareness Month celebrated yearly each October, we are honored to announce that CHOP has been given the NOD Leading Disability Employer Seal for 2024 by the National Organization on Disability (NOD) for the fourth time. This esteemed award recognizes exceptional disability inclusion practices and policies.
“We are proud to be named a Leading Disability Employer by the National Organization on Disability,” said Calvin U. Allen, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “This recognition highlights our dedication to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all employees.”
“Despite being one of the world's biggest minority groups, people with disabilities are often forgotten and are an untapped resource, in the workplace” said Rebecca Lozada, Program Manager for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. “As someone with an invisible disability and the Manager for the CHOP Employee Resource Groups, which includes the All-Abilities Resource Group (AARG), I want all employees to feel welcomed, understood, valued and supported and encouraged to bring their authentic selves to work.”
The Leading Disability Employer Seal is granted based on the NOD Employment Tracker™, a comprehensive assessment tool that evaluates key business practices related to hiring, retention and advancement of people with disabilities. This accolade reflects a company’s disability inclusion efforts in various areas, including workforce strategy, talent outcome metrics and sourcing, climate & culture, people practices, and workplace tools & accessibility.
