Video series: Communication, health equity, trusted partners and access
The Public Health Foundation (PHF) develops resources, tools, information and training for the public health workforce. They recently collaborated with the Wellness Equity Alliance to create a video series for healthcare professionals and community health workers. The modules include:
- Module 1: Communicating about Pediatric Vaccines
- Module 2: Health Equity in Pediatric Vaccination
- Module 3: Activating Trusted Partners in Pediatric Vaccination
- Module 4: Broadening and Optimizing Pediatric Vaccine Access
Take the training or explore other resources offered by the Public Health Foundation and the Wellness Equity Alliance.
Immunization discussion guides
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has developed discussion guides to pair with infographics for the majority of vaccines. The communication resources are grouped into maternal and infant guides, childhood guides (up to age 6), and adolescent guides. They’re available in multiple languages. The guides are typically one page in length and describe information, such as background on the infection, how it spreads, why families should vaccinate, options for immunizations, and more. These can be paired with an infographic, many of which are also available in multiple languages, when talking with the family.
Check out the AAP website for these resources.
Explore VIEW-hub by International Vaccine Access Center (IVAC)
VIEW-hub is an interactive platform that can be used to review data on vaccine use and impact. It is map based, so users can access data at the country level including a vaccine overview, impact studies, and economic and disease burden data. For example, with the global focus on measles this year, users can see which countries have had large outbreaks of measles over the past five years. The data can be used to design campaigns to reduce the burden from vaccine-preventable diseases.
