February 19, 2025

“AI and Public Health: Opportunities and Challenges” webinar

The Network for Public Health Law held a webinar on Jan. 23, 2025, that provided a comprehensive overview of emerging uses of AI in public health. The session started by defining generative AI, along with its potential applications and use cases. The speakers also addressed challenges associated with using AI in public health before reviewing ethical, operational and policy considerations. Finally, the discussion turned to legislative trends and identified places where AI may be able to transform work.

The webinar included four speakers with varied backgrounds, including from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO), Public Health Informatics Institute, and the Dallas County Health and Human Services.
