About Meera Siddharth

Meera Siddharth, MD, earned her Bachelor of Arts in History and Women’s Studies from Swarthmore College and her medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. She completed her pediatric residency at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, where she also served as chief resident.

Dr. Siddharth has been at CHOP Care Network University City as an Attending Physician since 2005. She has a long-standing interest in global health. She has done direct medical care, teaching and research in India, Laos, the Dominican Republic, Uganda, Haiti, and Bhutan.

2020, CHOP Cares Grant, Addressing food insecurity in refugee community. Received $5000 to provide culturally appropriate food boxes to the refugee community of South Philadelphia. Partnered with restaurant Sate Kampar and Mural Arts.

2019, Golden Door Award for the CHOP Refugee Program, HIAS-PA

2017 CHOP Care Grant (with Elena Jaworski, RN) , Karabots Safe Sleep Iniiative.  Received $3900 to educate members of the Karabots community, as well as the community at large, of safe sleep practices, as West Philadelphia has among the highest rates of SUIDS in the country.  Also established Karabots as a Cribs for Kids site.
2015, CHOP Cares Grant-Texting for Teens. $5000. Received grant to implement a texting communication service for adolescents who attend the CHOP Karabots Primary Care Center.
