Multi-million dollar gift from The Wawa Foundation brings Coffee and Care Cart to CHOP’s second inpatient hospital, offering comfort to patients and families, while helping to expand Wawa Volunteer Services program.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) announced it has received $1 million from Pediatric Cancer Foundation, an organization that has been raising funds for research since 1970 to support doctors and hospitals in an effort to eradicate childhood cancer. The grant will help to fund a planned first-in-human phase 1 clinical trial led by Sarah K. Tasian, MD, which will use a new immunotherapy to target the FLT3 receptor protein in high-risk pediatric leukemias.

On a beautiful Saturday in June, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) hosted the first in-person Cure Sickle Cell Walk & Family Fun Day at Citizens Bank Park raising more than $173,000 to support CHOP’s large and comprehensive sickle cell program.

On June 10, 2023 at Lincoln Financial Field, more than 700 local philanthropists, corporate leaders and patient families came together for the hospital’s signature fundraiser, the Carousel Ball, raising more than $4.1 million for autism research and care at CHOP.

IBX Foundation’s commitment to expand mental health services led to a partnership with CHOP and Girard College to create a school-based model of care.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia hosted The Runway, presented by the Jacovini Family, a contemporary lunchtime fashion show at the Mann Center curated by top Philadelphia-area boutiques and designers with proceeds benefitting CHOP’s Neuroscience Center. This year, more than $845,000 was raised!
