Sports Medicine and Performance Center
Children and adolescent athletes require special care when they are injured. Like adult performance athletes, they want quick and thorough treatment so they can return to the sport they love. But unlike adults, youth athletes are still growing. They need doctors who are not only sports medicine experts but also have extensive knowledge about growing bones, muscles and joints.
The Sports Medicine and Performance Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides comprehensive sports injury care for children at all levels of activity – from casual recreational sports to elite athlete training. We provide sports-specific wellness assessments and conditioning and nutrition programs, as well as bracing, casting, rehabilitation therapy and surgery. Our surgeons are international leaders in pediatric ACL reconstruction and other procedures.
How we serve you
We offer a full spectrum of care for youth athletes, including the most advanced diagnostic and imaging tools, expert surgical teams, injury rehabilitation, performance-enhancing training, nutritional counseling, and specialized clinics for athletes with dancing, running, or throwing injuries.
