At Children's Hospital, we believe in caring for a family's needs, even if their child has died. We offer support, hope and guidance to help families rebuild their lives after tragedy.
A Time to Remember & Give Thanks Memorial Service
Each Spring and Fall, we hold our A Time to Remember & Give Thanks Memorial Service in order to remember and honor the children who have died during the previous months. The memorial service is held in Stokes Auditorium on a Sunday afternoon and includes music, readings and a slide presentation. Families are invited to include their child's picture in the slide presentation that is displayed as CHOP staff read the children’s names. The service is followed by an informal reception in the main cafeteria.
Families, friends and staff are welcome to attend this special time of remembrance. For more information about our memorial services on Sunday, April 26, 2015 or Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 215-590-3273.
If you have any questions or need additional resources, contact us at email@example.com or 215-590-3273.
Annual Candle Lighting Ceremony & Memorial Book
Every year on the second Sunday in December, we hold a candle lighting ceremony to honor all children who have died. The Evenstar Program offers this special memorial event as part of The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting®. This global event unites hundreds of thousands around the world in lighting candles for one hour to honor and remember children who have died at any age, from any cause.
Families, friends and staff are welcome to join this special evening of remembrance. To view photos from our 2011 ceremony, visit CHOP's Facebook photo gallery.
