Children with type 1 or type 2 diabetes and their families need expert care and in-depth education to learn how to manage their disease.

At the Diabetes Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), our pediatric diabetes specialists will partner with your family to provide advanced treatment options and encourage independence so your child can live an active, full life.

For the first year after your child's diagnosis you will receive extra education opportunities so you become comfortable overseeing their care at home. Then, your child will be seen by a set team of CHOP providers for ongoing care. You will get to know each other, which creates trust and consistency as, together, we help your family overcome the challenges of managing diabetes.

How we serve you

When your child receives a diabetes diagnosis, your entire family is affected. We are here to help your child and family move forward with confidence.

Conditions we treat

When a person's pancreas is unable to make enough insulin or can't properly use the insulin it makes, diabetes is the result. The type of diabetes is defined by its cause. We treat all types.
