The most experienced physicians

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has one of the largest Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine practices of any pediatric hospital in the world. Our team includes 30 attendings, 11 nurse practitioners and nine pulmonary fellows, and we offer patients an unmatched level of experience. Each year, our multidisciplinary team sees more than 14,000 outpatients and another 9,500 inpatients. We treat the most complex and rare respiratory problems, some of which many physicians may never see during their careers.

Collaboration and support

We work closely with our referring colleagues and patient families before, during and after diagnosis and treatment. This ensures your child will receive the most coordinated care. We promote the sharing of information and knowledge by working with academic and other leading clinical institutions.

State-of-the-art diagnostic facilities

Our pulmonary function laboratory has comprehensive state-of-the-art facilities for performing and interpreting lung function tests. In addition to providing testing at our University City Main Campus, we also perform overnight sleep studies at our Specialty Care Center at Virtua in Voorhees, NJ and Specialty Care Center in King of Prussia, PA.

Advancing treatment through research

Our dedication to continuous improvement is evident in our commitment to research and innovation in the fields of pulmonary and sleep medicine. The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine is an avid participant in research conducted through the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other organizations committed to advancing treatment options and knowledge of the complex disorders we treat.
