Why Choose the Spine Program

The Spine Program is a cornerstone of the Division of Orthopaedics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), which is the No. 1 ranked program in the nation on the 2023-24 U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll of Best Children’s Hospitals.

The program is staffed with eight board-certified pediatric orthopaedic surgeons. Each physician has their own area of special focus among the hundreds of spine and spine-related conditions treated at CHOP.

While our surgical offerings are extensive, we know that it’s important to explore all non-surgical options when it comes to treatment for your child’s spinal condition. That’s why we focus on non-invasive treatment options first whenever possible, including bracing and special physical therapy programs.

By sharing their surgical knowledge, clinical experience and innovative research, CHOP’s Spine Program offers a depth and breadth of experience treating spine conditions that is unparalleled in the region.
