Background

Kristine Barry, MSN, CRNP, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University, College of Nursing and Health Professions.  Subsequently, she received her Master of Science from the University of Pennsylvania with a concentration in Pediatric Acute/Chronic track.

Kristine began her journey as a Nurse Tech at CHOP from 2014-2017. At the same time, she received experience from Pennsylvania Hospital as a Patient Care Tech. After graduating from Drexel, she accepted a position as a Nurse Resident followed by a Clinical Nurse here at CHOP in Complex Care and General Pediatrics. In 2020, she transitioned to the CICU where she quickly realized that she really enjoyed cardiac critical care. She actively became involved in precepting, conflict resolution and was the CICU skin care champion. Along her journey, she received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary nurses 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.

Kristine was our first immersion APP in the CICU with successful completion of the immersion program.
