Tips for When Parents Should Call their Pediatrician

Katie Lockwood, MD, pediatrician at CHOP Primary Care, South Philadelphia, discusses the signs parents should monitor when they feel unsure about calling a pediatrician or taking their child to the emergency room.

"It can be hard sometimes to know when or when not to call," she says. "I reassure parents to follow their instincts. If something doesn't feel right or if they're not sure if something is normal or not, pediatrician offices would rather you err on the side of calling us."
