About the Psychology Education and Training Programs

At Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, psychologists provide assessment, consultative, intervention and prevention services to infants, children, adolescents and families experiencing developmental, behavioral, emotional, and health concerns.

Faculty and staff promote the design, validation and delivery of data-based assessment and intervention approaches. Through service, training, and research initiatives, faculty and staff strive to provide a model of psychology practice and research in a pediatric medical setting.

Our Education and Training Programs includes:

  • A Continuing Education Program approved by the American Psychological Association that offers continuing education for psychologists.
  • The Psychology Internship Training Program accredited by the American Psychological Association. Our internship program helps trainees develop the clinical and research skills needed to work competently with diverse pediatric populations and to obtain positions in pediatric healthcare settings or university-based training programs.
  • A Postdoctoral Fellowship Program in Clinical Psychology that helps fellows develop the clinical and research skills necessary to work competently with diverse pediatric populations and to obtain a position in a pediatric healthcare setting or university-based training program.
  • A Psychology Externship Training Program that provides doctorate level graduate students in psychology with opportunities to develop knowledge and skills in applying theory to practice within the fields of child clinical psychology, pediatric neuropsychology and pediatric psychology.
