Pediatric Regional Epilepsy Program
The Pediatric Regional Epilepsy Program (PREP) specializes in the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of children and infants with seizures and epilepsy. For each child, we strive to understand why seizures have developed and then design a personalized treatment plan that best controls seizures with the fewest possible side effects.
Korey has epilepsy, one of the most common brain disorders in children, but his treatment is unusual: a diet of exactly 90 percent fat, 7 percent protein and 3 percent carbohydrates. It’s called the ketogenic diet and it's proven effective for children whose epilepsy does not respond to medication.
Our Programs and Services
At our Pediatric Regional Epilepsy Program (PREP), your child will be treated by a multidisciplinary team that includes neurology physicians, certified nurse practitioners and clinical nurses, a neuropsychologist, neurosurgeon, neuropathologist, neuroradiologist and social worker.
